    Hi Harry...
I really like my camera - I posted a few bird pics a few minutes ago.

    Here's my gallery: http://mikekatz.smugmug.com/gallery/487139

The camera is fantastic - what a difference between it and the 828. The colors are very natural, the detail amazing, and the ergonomics are wonderful. All the settings at your fingertips, and no menus to work through.

Of course the lenses are important, but that's where the anti-shake in the camera comes into play. Good lenses are not that expensive, since they don't need IS or VR - they just have good optics.

Finally, the AS really works in low-light situations. You can handhold at 1/15th or even sometimes 1/5th and get great pictures. I haven't even tried to use my add-on flash yet!

So, for a newbie like me, I'm really glad about my decision.

How about you, are you going to get a D2X? It's looks like a killer camera.

    Hey Mike,

I'm glad you're enjoying the camera. If it had been out when I moved up to a DSLR I think I would have gone with it myself. Its a shame that it gets overlooked by many who only consider Nikon and Canon when they make the move.

I've decided to pass on the D2X. The $5K price tag is a bit much at this time. I'm very happy with my D2H and I rather save my pennies for the 500mm/f4 lens of my dreams.

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"
