Architecture: Office Buildings at Night

So I'm still learning lots about photography and what types of pictures I like to take. I've learned I enjoy shooting buildings at night. An office building that appears somewhat dull looking during the day can look pretty cool at night.

A year ago I would have said all office buildings look boring and I could care less about pictures of them. But then three things happened at once: I moved to Las Colinas, TX, I was looking for office space, and I I picked up photography. My office search made me look at the building in more detail than I ever did before and my new found interest in photography made me realize they may make interesting subjects.

So I'm not sure of architecture photography is going to be my thing yet... but I'm having fun with it so far. Here are 2 HDRs and the first shots I've tried to correct the perspective distortion. I'm interested in anything you have to say but I'm really looking for comments on the perspective correction.

I'm happy with this one. I think it looks "correct". I like the building/shot too.

On this one I like the original better. No matter what I do perspective wise, the building looks "wrong".

Love night shots of buildings and pretty lights.iloveyou.gif

Do they have some trees/plants in the lobby?
It looks pretty inside the lower window there.

    Hello there jpl,

Your correction of the distortion is quite good, they still look a little out to me but only slightly.

I like the distortion the wide angle lenses can deliver,
but I also like that you can correct them if you want to post editing.

HDR works well with those shots, I prefer the first building myself.

You've done very nicely with these, the more you do the better you will get at them thumb.gif .... Well Done jpl clap.gif ... Skippy :D
