Question about upload sizes

How do you handle the sizes of of the images that you upload for your visitors to order? If you upload an 8x10 and they want to buy a 5x7 or vice versa, some of the picture will be cropped for the opposite size image that you uploaded. I know that a proof delay can be set, but the buyer will see a cropped image preview when they order.

    Check this out:

Just upload your files at their original proportions. Clients will be able to see how the image will crop, and you can adjust it if there's any problem.

The only thing I don't like about that is that many times there is a lot of extra garbage in pictures that I don't want to show up in galleries. If a visitor views a picture of a sunset in the gallery and there is a family off to the side in the picture, chances are they aren't going to even try to add the picture to the cart. They are going to think they have to order that picture and won't have the opportunity to crop it.

If I have proof delay set, is there a way that I can turn off the cropping feature so they only see the thumbnail in their cart? That way, if they like the picture as it is shown in the gallery that is what they will get and I can resize the image to fit what they bought. What they purchased is what they get.
