ordering my own photos - don't want proof delay

I'm about to order some of my own prints and want to avoid what I did last time. I use proof delay...what's the best way for me to order my own stuff without having to wait for my own proof delay? Last time, I got no notice in my email that an order had been made, as I would if someone else had ordered. So, I would have been stuck waiting the 9 days for my own stuff to get sent to the printer if I hadn't figured out what was going on and someone pushed it through for me. What is the proper procedure?

Yep, that's what I thought, but that didn't happen last time. What I forgot was that I also ordered a calibration print last time, so that delayed my entire order.
