Portraits of a juvenile Great Blue Heron

It's been a while since I've spent any time on this forum posting or commenting. During spring and summer I'm usually kept pretty busy with my dogs but do get out for a little shooting from time to time.

I was fortunate enough to have this juvenile pose patiently for me. I hope you enjoy them.

They are all very good but #3 is my favorite....it looks like he's smiling.

Wow. I have never been that close to a GBH! Great series. All shots are crisp and clear. I love the yellow eye!

Thanks a lot, Stephen. These were shot at 700mm on a 1.6 crop body so that helped a lot. They are close to full frame.

I think the blue might be over done a bit on a few of them.

Ya gotta love them youngsters! Their lack of fear makes from some nice opportunities.

Nice photos, also love the "hair."
We had some juveniles around our pond this year but I noticed in shots 5 & 6 yours seemed to grow up faster than ours
