they were acting very tame today, dont know why.
there are loads of them living in a small wildlife meadow a long way from any water. loads of insects on wildflowers for them to feed on.
1 even landed on dogs head!

You know, I have NO idea how you people get these lucky shots in.
I can't even walk 30 metres around a dragonfly without it freaking out and flying off... nice work

Ya...ive tried for weeks to get close enough for a dragon to take a macro. I stood in my pond for 2 hours yesterday and not one landed within 10 feet of me.

I still remember when i was in school, after eating lunch i use to prison them in my lunch box we a lot of them in our school play area.

thanks maxine, i think they were just looking for somewere to perch waiting for passing flys to pounce on.
the horseflys did bite,one on each hand 5 mins apart!
