Wonderful series Phil- esp like the last hopper.
Think it's an Ichneumon wasp not a sawfly.

thanks brian, see quite a few of these recently but are too fast and never seem to settle long enough to get good side shots.

Definately an Ichneumon then - sawflies tend to be often fairly slow. About the only time you get ichneumons is when they are cleaning or have found a victim and have started egg -laying.

thanks brian, now you mention it the sawflys do seem to stay put allowing stacking.
