Really Right Pano set up and Kirk L-Plate

Does anyone have experience using a Kirk L-Plate with the highly recommended Really Right Stuff MPR-CL II nodal slide mounted in the PCL-1 panning clamp? Kirk is the only mfg. I can find that makes an L-plate for a D-80 with the MB-D80 vertical grip/ batt pack, which I like to keep mounted on my D-80. The Kirk looks like a very sturdy unit, but I want to make sure it will work with the RRS MPR-CL II nodal slide, for single row panoramics. Just looking for some verification with a Kirk/ RRS combo.

TIA !!

I have a Kirk plate for my D50 that I use directly in the RRS PCL-1 (don't have the full pano setup). When I was reading up about it it basically seemed that the Kirk and RRS gear is compatible as long as you're not using a RRS quick release clamp (the PCL-1 is a screw one).
