Do downloads have SmugMug Watermarks?

Hello DGrinners! I am trying to figure out if a custom semi transparent watermark (through SmugMug's watermarking tool) I have inserted on top of photos, to stop people from "snipping tool", or "print screening" (stealing) our photos, is on the photos when people click "Buy this photo", and use the downloads tab.

The watermark in the lower left hand corner is supposed to be on prints AND downloads. We are trying to use the "Protected by PTD" watermark across the middle of the photo to discourage people from "stealing" our photos.

Is this "Protected by PTD" going to be on the photos if someone PURCHASES a DOWNLOAD of a photo?

PTD,

Watermarks added by using the Smugmug watermarking process will not be included in any prints or downloads. If you want a watermark to be there on a download/print it would have to be part of the origional image.

Hope that helps. I also hope that SM will add the ability to attach watermarks permanently so optionally they can be included in prints and downloads.

The easy way is to watermark all images before upload.

Then they will be marked no matter what.

If you get an order and do not want a mark on it, use the proof time to upload an unmarked photo, complete and ship the order and then replace with the original marked image again.
