Tried to upload a 93mb 28sec mpg and all i get is an error after a few hours of SM trying to convert it.
I ask you, what's the point of offering this feature if its unreliable.

Yeah, not happy.

Dave.

What is the error message you are receiving? Post a link to your site and I'll have one of the video experts take a look for you :) or you can send the link to your site to the help desk. http://www.smugmug.com/help/emailreal

Hi. No error as such. I uploaded the file and my gallery was showing it was being proccessed for most of yesterday, and then it wasnt there.
    Here is the upload log
    <table class="infoTable" border="0" width="100%"><tbody><tr><td valign="middle">Sam and the keyboard.mpg</td> <td valign="middle">345624392</td> <td valign="middle">sKBjG</td> <td valign="middle">Error</td> <td valign="middle" nowrap="nowrap">2008-08-05 03:28:26</td> <td valign="middle">n/a</td></tr> <tr align="left"> <td colspan="7" align="left">Message: Tried and failed 10 times :(</td></tr></tbody></table>
    and this is the gallery

there was another file, an .mp4 that did the same thing. 118MB around 1min long. Same thing happened. Im not sure if i should have converted that one first but as it was a H.264 file i thought it would be ok.

    thanks for the help.

    Dave.

I just had one of our video experts look at your post. He is thinking it's a video Codec error. Could you try running it through a video converter and try again. MPEG StreamClip for www.squared5.com works well.
If this doesn't help, contact the help desk and we'll give you some inforamtion on how to send us the original file and he can take a look for you. http://www.smugmug.com/help/emailreal

Thanks for looking in to it.
The file was created in Vegas and so has edits in it. I would rather not loose any more quality by re encoding it.
Ill make up another file and try uploading it tomorrow. If that doesnt work im happy to send the file to you so ill contact the help desk.
