Default gallery sort order

Is there any way to set the default gallery sort order to "Title"? Whenever I create a new sub-gallery, Smugmug by default places it last in the gallery. I them have to manually arrange the gallery to quick sort by Title. Can I just have my galleries default to sort by Title?

You can create "quick settings" that you can use when you create a new gallery. See this help page for details - http://www.smugmug.com/help/picture-storage.

Actually, the Quick Settings only apply to the images within the gallery. I want to sort my sub-galleries by title within the main gallery. I'm not refering to sorting the images within the gallery.

Make sure your gallery/category box is set to sort by position (upper left
corner) and not recent. You should now see an arrange pick on the upper left
of each gallery/category/sub-category box.

Thanks Allen. That's how I've manually been doing it. Clicking in "arrange" in the upper left corner of the gallery list view and then selecting "title" from the auto sort gallery. I have to do this every time I add a new gallery. I would rather have this done automatically (by default) when I add a new gallery.

Yes! I am so glad you are posting this question! It's one of the things I would like to know too. Hopefully someone will tell us how to set this up so that the galleries are automatically sorted the way we want them without having to do it each and every time galleries are added.

I have a question related to this subject as well. I name my photos in a particular set using the YYYY_MM_DD_XXXX.jpg format, and I'd like them to appear within a given gallery sorted by filename. However, when I use the SmugMug uploader, it puts the photos in a somewhat random order. I then have to use the arrange gallery tool to put them in filename/numerical order. Is there a better way to do this?

Why not just specify the sort order for your gallery? You don't need to arrange the gallery - go to the customize gallery screen and set the auto sort.

If you always want your galleries sorted in the same order, create a quick setting to use when you create a new gallery - http://www.smugmug.com/help/picture-storage.

I'm looking for the same thing on sorting galleries within each category. I tried arranging, but then I found that I had to re-do it again after uploading a new album into the category.
