I visited some friends yesterday and we spent some time in their newly added on family room, which had awesome light...windows on three of the four walls, high ceilings, neutral colors. I could have stayed in there all day! I couldn't resist snapping some of their youngest.
These were shot with the 17-55 2.8 IS at f/3.2, ISO 1250 and 1/400. Have I mentioned I love this lens??

I went with a cloudy white balance because I like the touch of warmth it adds, but I'm wondering if it's a bit too much? The shadows seem a little ruddy. :dunno C&C welcome...processing tips, etc... :ear

Idlewild - Thanks for the comments! I loved that fish-lip face, too!
Appreciate the kind words, Marina!
Awais - Thank you very much!
Thanks, Jeff! I actually started out with my 50 1.4, but didn't feel I was getting crisp shots, so I switched to the 17-55. Ahhh...that's what I was after.
John, thanks for stopping by and thanks for your generous praise! I'm sending you a PM.

These are the cutest!
Wow Elaine, these are some of the most adorable, well lit photos I've ever seen from you or elsewhere. The fish lip face is cute but that last closeup is just jaw-dropping, the even light, the sweet little tongue, the texture on his lips, those BIG glossy eyes. Snapshots my foot!!!

Thanks a ton, Lynne! That room was so much fun to shoot in. The terrific light sure made things easier on me. I'm lovin' that last one right now. I would love to have a big canvas made from it, but the funny thing is, I don't know if the parents would even buy an enlarged picture of it. They are extremely frugal (not a bad thing) and I don't know that buying something like that would cross their mind. I'm just hoping I get the chance to take more pics for them soon...of their cute kids...in that great light! If nothing else, it adds to my own portfolio!
