Shooting mantises is always interesting to me.

Unlike most insects that seem alarmed or anxious about the large mammal with a camera, the mantis, being a top layer predator, looks back at you without alarm, but more like inspection and evaluation.

Nice series of shots.

That robot as well, but to me he's Monty Burns from the Simpsons --I wonder if the actual character was modeled on a praying mantis -- not only does he look like one, but his body language is similar :-)

I decided to Google this idea and it turns out Monty, or at least his movements, were modeled after a praying mantis, see:
