I really want a 14-24 or 24-70 for my D3, but I am lusting after a 500VR. So, on a recent trip to Bar Harbor, I decided to bring along my 20 year old AF Nikor 35-70 3.3-4.5 to give it a go on the D3. I am shocked at the results. The D3 bought life back into a lens I haven't used in over 10 years.

Awsome shot! Im stoked with all this Maine activity! I'll be up in boothbay tomorrow. Dont give up on the wide though! I love life at 10mmmwink.gif although theres nothing wrong with reach, wide is just cheaper:D The longest im at with decent glass is 70-200 2.8 IS I need to get a 1.4X for that as it is!

    The opportunities are endless
Bar Harbor is such an amazing place. It's one reason I'm glad to live in Maine.
    Very nice photo

Well I really like the shot and angle. I know exactly where you took that because I took the same shot about 3 weeks ago. I even think the rowboats were in the same order then.
