Having problems embedding pictures

I've gone through relevant threads about picture posting, but so far haven't found an answer to this - if I've missed it, please point me to a previous discussion!

A few days ago, no problem - I could post links to picasa to my heart's content and the images would appear in a dgrin post (taht was in the "People" forum, btw).

I'm now trying to post in the "Technique" section, and no dice. I click the insert image button, paste in the appropriate URL and it just won't work. In my initial "new post" editing screen, I'm getting an empty "broken link" box graphic. When I submit the message, there's just a big blank in the post. In the editing screen (the one I used to go back and try to fix it) I see the link surrounded appropriately by {IMG} tags.... but the pic isn't displaying. The link is good (have checked it numerous times).

Any suggestions? Thanks!

I'm not sure how Picassa works, but my guess would be that external links are not enabled in the gallery that holds the pic that is giving you problems. ne_nau.gif

Thanks - forgot to update this thread as well, since in the other one we DID finally figure out what it is. For posterity (in case anybody ever searches) the answer is...:

The links Picasa generates in its "link to this picture" dropdown boxes - and even the link in the address bar - will not display. However, if you right click on the image itself and take THAT url to use as the link, it works perfectly when installed via the "insert picture" button.

So yeah, basically... you got it :)

embedding picasa photo album into smugmug gallery
    Hi,

Related to picasa, I want to embed the picasa slideshow into a smugmug gallery. Picasa provides the code and when I am logged into my smugmug account, I can view the photoalbum just fine. However, when I log out or share the gallery with another user, the picasa photo album box appears white and the album does not display.

I have customized my gallery with External Links set to Yes.

I am not clear what other setting is blocking the display when I am logged out or why it would display when I am logged in.

    Any ideas/suggestions to troubleshoot?

    Thanks!
