Hi Gang,

I've never posted photos on DGrin before so I thought I'd give it a shot to see how it goes.

These are not new photos but they are among my faves, especially #3, and I'm just throwing them out to share, but feel free to comment freely either good or bad.

This is a replica of the Privateer Linx the original of which fought in and was lost in the war of 1812. She visits our local Oceanside CA Harbor a couple of times a year. More info at http://www.privateerlinx.com.

#1 Here she is sailing into the harbor late in the afternoon.<center>

So there you have 'em. I'm ready for the incoming slings and arrows :hide

I really enjoy seeing those Tall Ships Chuck,
we have a few here in Australia too, the craftsmenship that goes into reproducing them is a credit to all who give their time to make it all possible.

It's nice when they let the sails out........ nice shots thumb.gif

Thanks all for your generous comments ... virtually all my posts have been in the support threads but I think I'll start hanging out here a little more often.

Tall ships are so cool! You've done a good job photographing too :D

I find her rig a bit odd, with one half square rigged mast. I've seen those only as silhouttes in lists of types of sail configurations. Kind of like the wierd photo filters you only see in filter catalogs.

A friend of mine was on a month long leg on schooner Helena a while ago, I only really sail dinghies. I wanna try a tall ship for a leg :D
    Creativity's hard.
