WTB: Canon 70-200mm USM IS lens

Hello everyone. I hope im posting this in the right section...I use a Canon EOS Rebel XT camera and i am ready to buy a nicer lens. I have seen some of the sample shots from this lens and it is excellent. I am new to digital photography, so any suggestions regarding this lens (or any lens) would be greatly appreciated. :dunno About how much should i pay for this lens used?

    this one comes in two flavors... f/4 or f/2.8

    if you are looking for opinions/reviews/chat, I suggest you go search or browse through the posts in our cameras forum. both versions of the 70-200 IS are extremely popular, you won't have any trouble finding info on them (usually all good)
