    Welcome to DGRIN you'll learn a lot from some extremely talented folks on this site.
    On the first one, I'm not so sure selective colorization adds a lot to the shot although you did a very good job at it. I would crop the top by about 1/3. Perhaps to the bottom of the glare on the rail.
    I really like the second one. Nice isolation, good background bokeh.
    FWIW, both would make a better impression if you posted larger images, say 800px on the longest side.

    Hi Empsson, I like both these shots, well there's always room for improvement when your learning, and everyone looks at things differently.

    I like the way you have some of the weed in green and the rest in B&W,
    giving the impression the plant is half dead .... looks good nod.gif

    I actually like the first shot the way it is.

    Second shot ... I like how you have almost encircled the flower with a ring of light, your eye is drawn to that one flower in the center.
