Thanks to everyone who provided great advice and suggestions.
1. The two guys sitting are my cousins.

2. This was ambient, I can't decide if I like the shadowless look compared to the off camera flash in #1.

Using picture #3, what are their roles in the band?

#3 is the winner of the lot - very cool. I can see this as the album art for a disk!

#8 is kinda cool as well - the way that one guy is separate from the other three really creates some tension for/in me as the viewer.

Aside from that, there's this irritating white band along one edge of each of the photos - hmmmm headscratch.gifmwink.gif (just messing with you).

Bump to Scott here. It is not helpful to the viewing of the images. Maybe add it to the bottom of the pics instead of in the images?

    Cheers,
    David

I was messing with her!! Putting the watermark outside the image would negate the whole purpose behind having it in the first place.

I like #2 compared to #1. It looks really urban and I like that kind of look at times. I also love #5! I love the reds and just the whole look of it. I wish maybe they were posed a little different? I'm not sure how though because I'm not that great at the sort of thing.

they're instrumental, so they don't really have a "frontman" but the guy in the foreground is lead guitar, then bassist, then keyboardist, then drummer.

I suspect they'll like #3 the best as well, it is more about them than the location, unlike most of the others.

And yeah, I see a lot of uses for #8, some tension, looks more pj than the others, and plenty of whitespace for text/graphics.

    Thanks for commenting, Scott!

I agree with Idlewild, I think 2 & 5 are my favorites. I love the location in #7, but I think a lower perspective might have been more interesting (maybe?) I think you did well, you should be happy! I REALLY love the texture of the wall in #5, ads something to the photo! very cool thumb.gif

Love 2, 3, 7, ad 8. clap.gif The entire set is really good, but these stand out for me--make me think "band" when viewing. :D Absolutely love your PP on all these.

2,3, and6 are my picks of the litter. I like the shadows in #1....did it look as good in color as #2?....

This sure is switching gears from the last couple sets you have posted here. Great job at being a flexible shooter!

Ya know Lynne....it's always great to see your shots....variety in processing, angles, DOF, comps, etc. Really makes me think when shooting. Needless to say, you inspire me.

Thanks for losing the branding across the images!

(1,2), 3, 5 and 8 would all work really well for promo shots, posters and covers. Being in Austin, I see a lot of good and bad band photography, I even take some of each :-)

I'd be very proud of this work clap.gifclapclap.gif

These are all top quality shots. I hope they like them.

    Cheers,
    David

Great suggestion about the lower perspective. I definitely didn't change that up as much as I coulda woulda shoulda. Thanks for the encouraging words! They guys are thrilled with them and have already whipped up a new site using them, I'm so glad they are happy! www.bearison.com
