A request for a password keeps cropping up on my home page. When I refresh the page it goes away. Here's a screen capture. If you get time please check it out. Thanks!

Just did it again. Random thing for sure.

Another screen shot. I'm using IE 7. Refresh the page and it goes away.

    Login requested for slideshow
Any ideas on why my homepage slideshow asks for a password? It does not happen all the time and if I refresh the page a few times it goes away. No, the gallery is not passworded... I think this issue might cause views to bail on viewing my site... HELP!

Is there a logic to be found for those that have this problem? Does it show for all slideshows? or only the first one that you load? Does it show all the time when you first load a slideshow? If not, how many out of how many times does it show? Does it always go away after refreshing the page? Does it still occur after clearing cookies?

    Hi Folks,

I've alerted our engineers - it's not you, it's us, for sure :) Don't know where yet but we'll figure it out.

    Sorry for the hassle :(

i think it is b/c the gallery containing pictures for the slide show is passworded...at least it is for my slide show...when i get prompted

if i am logged in then the slideshow works...
if i am not logged in then i get the passwd prompt...which btw...doesn't mask the passwd either

Could you all check now to see if the problem is replicable or if it's fixed? Thanks!

I still get passwd dialog for mine...
but i think it is supposed to work like this...???

The gallery with images does indeed have a passwd as well as the gallery with the slideshow...let me know if you need/want the link to test...

When I am logged into my sm account i did not get the passwd dialog box.

The other comment i have is that when entering a passwd in the dialog box it is NOT masked *****

The homepage slideshow requires an open gallery - no password :) So please fix that. Thanks!

I saw the problem just now on this gallery: http://agapephotos.smugmug.com/. Loaded it again later and it worked normally.

Yeah it's frustrating for us too, sorry Anthony :( It doesn't affect all people, and it is proving to be a bit difficult to pin down. We'll get it, I'm sure.

    Sorry again for the hassle.
