I don’t know how many times I have seen these…. But last night was the firs time I saw one move. I never thought these where insects…. Will not pass them by next time. MM

Think #1 would have fooled me. I have a pond grass that looks just like that. Well spotted- think it must be a bagmoth caterpillar.

very strange, similar to caddis lavae found in ponds.
skipper butterfly ,not a moth by the way.

Hi MM I have seen similar Bagworms but not bundled like that,
the ones more common here have little twigs bound together.
