Here is a shot of a loon from my recent trip to Maine. This guy eluded me quite a few times before I was able to grab these shots.

Both were taken with the D3, 300 2.8, and TC20EII mounted to my Gitzo 1325/BH55/Sidekick rig.

I love loons, and these shots are beautiful

Unfortunately, I only get to shoot Knotaloons

Great reflection in the water and color. They seem dark but to me it fits the mood of this loon quietly paddling along.

And I am with Dan. I only get to photograph knotaloons and there are knot many of those either.
