Before The Egret Comes
The Egg.............................I am sure you all got that one right!
I think our egrets are a bit "slower" here as SC maybe Southern, but it is not as far south as Florida where Trish is. Loved her baby egret shots. I heard the heron has babies. Well, the Heron is higher, and I can't see into his nest.
I think this bird must have just laid this egg before I took the photo, as no other eggs show before this photo, and I think there are an egg in other picture right near this one, but not clear that it is an egg. For 500 photos yesterday....................I got ONE egg.
Some others are photos I really like, but I have to get to church, so it will be later.
For those of you trying to get egret shots, if you can find a rookery, that is where we are basically getting all these egrets. I get them other places, but this is easiest, not the best rookery I have seen posted, but good enough.
Of course, remember this was 500 shots or more. (In Florida they call these places "wetlands", they have enough birds to be a rookery IMO)
Ginger:D (My Egret laid an egg! :lol4 ) Cool, huh.
Gentlemen?

I have to work on it anyway, I forgot to sharpen it. I want everyone to know that I simply forgot to sharpen it. My husband wanted to leave for church, I had it almost ready.............gosh, I didn't even check out if saturation would be nice.
Basically I did not work up that shot..............I will later.
I appreciate the comments, Fred. Photoshow and AJ.
After church I crossed a bridge between islands, took some landscape shots, then crossed the bridge to the other side where the pelicans were diving.
I tried to get them bombing into the water. Didn't quite get that, either. First time I tried, though. I don't know if it was the wind, or if it is their flight pattern, but they came fwd just before hitting the water, than put me late in the shot.
The gusts have to have been 60 MPH or more out there. I felt like one of those guys reporting on a hurricane proving the wind strength.
I have a weeks worth of shots to work up, and I found another rookery. I need a machete to get a good view of those birds. It is more crowded, as far as the birds are concerned, too. Right across the highway, though. Probably could get BIF there. But the folliage would make reflections very difficult.

Super capture. The bird's pose is marvelous. I would crop it tighter though.
Good work.

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"
ginger (I still have to work it up, so many photos, so little time)

Tomorrow, I am just kind of closing up, I hope. I have been on here since I got home. Spent alot of time on something for the challenge that really looked bad when I put it up. The things that come easy are usually best in the long run. For me.
