Pewee? Flycatcher? I could use some help with an I.D. on this one.

I think you are correct with your ID. This bird is a recent fledgling, as you can still see its "lips" where the upper and lower bill meet.

Nice clean shots! I wish I could set up feeders and such!

These are great Harv; especially the 2nd one. Maybe it's a peewee flycatcher

Regardless of ID...very sweet shots.

Now I need to convince my rich wife that a 500 is merely a necessity in wildlife photography.

Thanks a lot for the input, Glenn. For the record, these were not taken at my feeders. Took these out in the wild during photographing other birds.

I thought I had commented on these. Very good series. I love the short distance to this flycatcher (pewee?). You have nice detail in all and the comp is especially good in the first one.

I don't know a thing about owning or the need for a 500mm lens..but that is an osprey. Definitely an osprey. You can tell by the large talons, curved raptor beak and those evil yellow/orange eyes. No doubt about it...OSPREY.
