Frustrated with HTML only page

I'm trying to do an HTML page and after I put in the text and then look at the page, I find that it has removed all my + signs from the page. Since this is Javascript code on the page, that's ruining the whole page.
I have it prefaced by <html>. What else do I have to do to allow the + signs to stay in my custom HTML? This didn't used to be a problem, it just happened in my last edit. The page in question is here.
EDIT: Since the issue is urgent, I realized I should just email the help desk so I've taken the issue there.
