How come my post count is stuck at 64? It's been that way for a long time? Have I not toggled something in my profile or options?

Update: Okay, well crud. This one is now at 65. But I've posted a number of times on the DGrin challenge forum and they are all at 64.

Are you sure it's stuck? The post count updates on all your posts, it doesn't leave a trail so to speak.

My last two posts were shown as #23. See http://www.dgrin.com/showthread.php?t=102927.

Wonder which number will appear on this one when I hit "submit reply?"

I suspect you are using your browser's Back button and seeing an old screen. Try reloading the page for an updated count.

As far as I can tell, there is no problem here.

Not using browser back button. Checked during separate logins. I checked the thread I referenced in my last post and both posts were now number 24 as was my last post itself. If the pattern continues, this post, both posts in the ref. thread and my previous post here will all be 25.

If that pattern does continue, something is certainly not working somewhere, but I assure you it is not being caused by my browser's back button.

Sorry, I guess I don't understand what you think is wrong. The post count changes to reflect your current total. It is not static, so all your old posts will show the same count and that number will increase as you make more posts. I don't see why this should be a problem, frankly.

The post count shows user's total number of posts, not the number the post originally was. The number is tied to the user's info and updates dynamically, it doesn't leave a trail.

There is a way to show posts by a certain user in chronological order though.

if you want to find all of your posts, go to the 'shooter's profile' page. You'll find a link to search for all your posts there, or click on 'find more posts by ...' thumb.gif

Somewhere along the line, my brain jumped the rails. You are quite right; there is no problem except inside my head.
    Sorry about that.
