I did a quick double take on the name as well. The city name sounds like something you'd find in the state of Washington.

Really? It is a pretty typical aboriginal name. A lot of Aboriginal names are used for place names here and many end in -up in Western Australia.

There are a number of Native American tribes in the Washington area. Not too different I guess
