I sat down under my hummingbird feeder today and was able to capture two hummingbirds. I am fairly pleased with how they came out.

    Nice shots. thumb.gif

Crop the feeder out of 4, 5, and 6 and take the contrast/sharpening radius down a tad (imo).

Looks like a female ruby throated. That last shot is especially nice. I agree with Dan on the contrast and either cropping out or cloning out the feeder. Nice work. Hope you post more.

    Thanks for the comments. :D

To Dan and Maestro, I did crop really close as I really wanted to show the detail. I cropped to a 4x6 and did a basic color boost and unsharp mask. I didn't set the sharp too high either. I did notice the photo looked a little off. I'll play around again and see what I can do with these. Hummingbirds were my mom's favorites, so I just love to photograph these little beauties.:D

They are some of my favorites too. I am not sure where you are located but ruby throated hummingbirds are on the move already. You should see quite a bit of activity.

Nice captures, I wouldn't crop these any further. You might try cloning out the feeder though. #4 and #6 are my faves in the batch.

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"
