Moonlight effect taken inside.

Can anyone tell me how to get this effect. My friend had a photo taken just like this and said that there was only a window for lighting. Is this possible?

Celeste, welcome to the Digital Grin. clap.gif

I moved this thread to the Techniques forum where I think you'll find a more suitable audience.

Yes, it is possible and probably exactly as described by your friend.

This looks like a large, soft, diffuse light source, close to the child. ( window, softbox, umbrella etc.)

Maybe late afternoon sunlight reflected off a white wall into a large window in the studio. But a softbox can give a similar effect with a gel over the strobe to warm the color temperature.

This was shot almost 30 years ago with positive slide film

Thanks, so you feel that it was all in the actual photo, not any or much editing in photoshop to get that effect. I thought maybe there was an effect such as "moonlight" or something.
