The eye on the fly looks pretty good, second shot looks slightly out of focus to me.

Lovely shots - I rather like the scorpion fly in #2 - not ugly just very different .

If you want finer detail with high mag shots with the MPE-65 you will need to open the aperture a bit. The smallest I tend to use is F6.3 at 5:1 and often shoot wider than that.

been shooting @ 14 now instead of 16, i`ll try about 8 next time

like the scorpion fly shot, such a long beak needs quite a few stacked frames to get all in focus. i never know what bit to focus on.
