Various birds at Herdsman Lake

I went to check out a local lake her in Perth last week for the first time since moving back here from Japan. I was glad to find quite a variety of birdlife there! I definitely look forward to getting back down there again soon. Here are some of the shots I got. C&C welcome.

Most excellent set, Mike! Lots of really cool shots there. I also really like the glossy ibis, although that spoonbill shot is a hoot!

Dude! Fantastic! The swamphen is very nice, but so are the grebe and coot, which looks surprisingly just like the American Coot. I love the DOF in six. The cygnet is just a cutie and all the Ibises are wonderful especially the last. Even the ubiquitous Great Egret you caught doing something interesting! thumb

Thanks I dunno why but I was surprised when I saw it snap the dragonfly. But then seeing a GBH eating a gopher in that other thread, I guess it seems quite normal...

Great series Mike. I agree with others on 6 and 15, but so many really good captures. Your "stuff" just keeps getting better and better!

Wow! Cheers Stephen. Thanks for the cool comments. I was particularly happy with this set. The ibis shots were the bonus because they were very hard to get close to!
