last couple of stacks from whixall mosses.
found these 2 on the handrails at the carpark beside the canal. had already packed up had to get gear out again.
natural light shot at f5 , very shallow dof resulting very blurred hand rail[ done this before ! ]

because the picture is made up of 5 images focus stacked, each one was taken at f5.6 , the very shallow depth of field of each frame is exagerated in higher magnifications & when they are stacked, you dont normally see this when using say f8 on a normally perched bug that is focus stacked.
all the frames have a similar blured line front & back of the focus point [which is only a couple of mm at these magnifications],the flat wooden rail it was on seems to show this more.
the software only recognises the sharp focus parts of the image, not the softer blurred parts, so it only stacks the sharp bits which then stand out from the blurred areas.
