Nikon D80 Shutter Speed (?)

We're just talking in the office and the subject came up regarding the setting (shutter) opening and what the maximun opening one can set on the Nilon D80. How many seconds?

    It goes up to 30 seconds, but if you are in manual mode you can also use "bulb".

    Thanks.....and in 'bulb' the shutter can be open for (?) minutes?

    As far as I know if you are shooting in bulb you can leave the shutter open until the batteries die... or something burns up in the camera from the circuits getting too hot (but that would probably take a while...). Theres a lot of people on here that do long exposure photography with shots of the stars that could give you a better idea of any limitations of using bulb on a DSLR.
