I'm trying to figure out a way to add a most recently posted photos feature to my site (and my blog). I'm finding that often times newly posted photos are not being seen because I don't always create and feature new galleries. My initial thought is that I would use RSSDigest or the RSS Javascript generator from blogharbor.com to easily do this. There were a couple of snags of course.
First, there is no all gallery inclusive feed of most recently posted pictures. The best I can get is most recently updated galleries. That feed has images associated with it so that would work for me. It's not exactly what I'm looking for, but it'll do.
Second, the rss feeds are set up so that the embedded images do not show up in any of the news aggregators that I've been able to find. The best I can get is a link to the gallery (or a link to the image depending on the feed) with the time, date, and title. I certainly don't know if this is a Smugmug issue (perhaps the image could be embedded in the title?) or an issue with the aggregators themselves being too limited.
I suppose the best possible solution from my perspective is for Smugmug to develop a way for the user to display the last x number of posted images. Anyone have any suggestions other than that?
Thanks

I put links to the newly updated (or added) gallery in my bio.

Anyhow, you shouldn't have to do it by hand. Smugmug's whole mantra is to make things as easy as possible.
