"Ladies Love Country Boys" - Trace Adkins

If you're a country fan or watched NBC's The Celebrity Apprentice, you are probably familiar with Trace Adkins. This former pipefitter turned singer puts on one hell of a show but makes it extremely difficult to shoot with stage lights and a cowboy hat.

The hat was always casting a shadow on his face and the only time I could get a shadow free shot was when he reared back to belt out a long note but then his eyes would be shut. :)

Anyway, here's a few shot from the concert on Wednesday.

It looks like you did a good job under tough conditions. The colors are rich and look true. You caught moments of interest. And the shots were crisp and clean which is hard to do under low light. I especially enjoyed #3. The way you caught the light behind him produces a halo effect. Good work!! Thanks for sharing.

Thank you Heather and everyone else who commented on the photos.

These shots were taken at Grand Casino near Lake Milacs. They announced before the concert you can take as many photos as you want so I decided to take them up on the offer.:D

My seat was only 60 feet away from the stage and on a couple of occasions, I went to the back of the venue (120 feet away) to get a wider, more straight on shot.

All photos were taken with a Canon 5D and a 100-400L lens. Shutter speeds ranged from 1/80 to 1/125 (all hand held), ISO was anywhere from 320 to 800 depending on the lighting for the song and all were shot at f/5.6.

Nice shots. Not so easy to get low light shots sharp. What lens?
