Thumbnails / Default settings...

I uploaded a bunch of pics (+700 low res nostalgic shots) last night... The quickest way for me to do this was to use the MacDaddy app to upload a new gallery based on my 'event name' in iPhoto... Afterwards I applied a bulk gallery preferrence to all galleries... Sounds simple...

However, I generally hate the Square Thumbnails, and since this format is the default, SmugMug, of course generated Square Thumbs for all my pics... The bulk settings reveresed this process... Although... Many hours later and the Thumbs still haven't been switched over... Annoying...

If there was better management of the preferences in MacDaddy, or more reasonably, the SmugMug account itself, this wouldn't be happening... I think we should be able to choose what the default gallery settings should be... Regardless of the upload app used (not suggesting the upload app can't tweak / overwright these default prefs)

P.S. The other pain-in-the-ass thing for me, was having to go into EACH and every new gallery to erase all the captions and keywords it picked up on upload - this too should be a switchable preference, as you have read elsewhere, not everybody want this feature... For those that do, it's great... But for those that it doesn't it really is a big pain...

EDIT: I deleted the following sentence when I eventually discovered the 'delete' button: "And we should be able to delete / rename old 'quick' preferences... Some of them are so old that they knew nothing about the newer settings like HelloWorld and thumbnails etc... It gets confusing trying to remember which is your latest tweaked 'quick' setting!"

I have never had this problem, it sure seems like your uploader or image editing software is planting more stuff into your EXIF or something, But Ill leave the correct replies to the pro's.

But first make sure about your editing and upload software.

Which problem are you talking about? The keywords? I think that's based on the filenames... I'm using the latest MacDaddy to upload and the filenames were all hand-named at some stage or other (they were a collection of low-res legacy pics from years back)... All would've been scanned and edited in Photoshop so there's no real rhyme or reason to the filenaming conventions...

Back on the gallery 'quick setting' topic... Is there a maximum number of 'quick settings' allowed? I've got 5... Just discovered the 'delete' button which is good... But I need to make a new 'quick setting' but it's not letting me save it... Tried deleting all but 1 and still no dice... No error messages... It just doesn't 'stick'... Please help?

EDIT: Turns out that there was an apostrophe (') in the password hint field... I removed that and it's working again... A bit of a hack - forcing me to use bad English - but I'll live!
