There are two insects I cannot abide... And this is one of them..

The Earwig !!!

Ever since as a kid my big brother said they go in your ears and eat into your brain, I have hated them.. Brrr... I'm starting to itch just thinking of it...













I set the daylight balance in the last one, having forgotten in the first four... The focus isn't spot on but the colours are better. In fact, it kept crawling (ughhhh) all the while that I was taking these and I was so aware of the beggar fall onto y hand... well, it doesn't bare thinking about...

Good ones Paul - very difficult to shoot these in daylight - they are normally looking for somewhere to hide.

Funny you should be told that story as a child,
because when we were kids one crawled into my sisters ear while were are outside sitting on a blanket on the ground.

The rear end looks quite menacing though I must admit.
