I really like Feel the Burn, however the flame looks a bit fake to me. Also, the light and dark parts on her arms is a hair distracting. How about putting the flames coming off her arms....?
The composition is really nice and I get the feel of the photo which is hard to accomplish, IMHO.
If you can re-shoot, I'd use a few drops of whatever flammable you have at hand to actually put the flames on the ice.

I was using paint thinner, which apparently isn't enough to counteract the ice wanting to put the flame out. I tried several times before moving on to plan B, which was lighting a bowl of it underneath the ice. Harder than I thought it would be to make the ice ignite!
Now that you mention it, yes it would be. The paint thinner doesn't burn as a liquid - it's the vapour which of course doesn't form if it's cold...
So a possible solution is warm the st... are you feeling lucky?

I nearly burned my porch the first time I tried this with the ice, despite thinking up precautions for a week. I have now been seen on my porch lighting fires and taking pictures by my neighbors twice this week. I think I'm already pushing my luck.
That said, a plan C occured to me for the fire in the second picture. Slightly less dangerous.
...I think.
A light coating of napalm just might do the trick
A powder. A flammable powder.

Good luck!!

Thanks, Steven! When I get to this point, I debate on when to open the bottle of wine, because then everything will look better.
I still think it's Rekindled without a doubt. The new flame in the third looks like an unlucky pancake to me for some reason.
Man I must sound completely off my trolley by now

...Unlucky pancake??
...or kneading with attitude?
Hey I just woke up and it's 4:30 AM!

4:30 am? Where are you located?

Finland, we're at GMT+3 in the summer.

It's funny how wine tends to do that! If only we had the judges addresses - I've got several bottles of Gamay Rouge from V.Sattui Winery in Napa just sitting here waiting to be enjoyed.
Woah, cool! How's Finnish coffee?
I'm still in love with "Feel the Burn." Argh. Even though the votes and comments are overwhelmingly for my first idea, I can't seem to give up the ghost.

Yeah, what happened to the good ol' custom of bribing?
http://lrichters.smugmug.com
I hope that means "Good morning."
I can see why, but the flames don't work at all and it really suffers for it, sorry!

I'm told it tends to be lightly roasted
I run on black tea, I make it strong and add lots of honey.

Huomenta!
Seriously, where'd that come from?

Okay, I can take the hint that it's time to step away from the computer and uncork the wine (which sounds salacious knowing that it's 5am in Finland!). :giggle
Thanks again, all.
Same goes for me, except I'll go with the tea. Just added a picture to mini 9 with less than two hours to spare
