Calm Before The Storm
Shot these images just before tropical storm Fay came ashore on the west coast of Florida. Even though Fay is quite a distance from here, we continue receiving heavy rain from its feeder bands. The birds don't seem to want to come out and play in the rain.
Have fun,

Yes and No...Florida has a dry period and a wet period. The summer months are referred to as our "rainy season" and the west coast of Florida had a very rainy, season this year. During the dry period, usually the winter months, we go long periods without rain and drought conditions are normal.
Fay dumped over 30 inches of rain in some areas. That's a lot of water in a short time. From what I've seen, the vast majority of damage was caused by flooding rather than from the wind.
Thanks for the comments Stephen.

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"
Thanks Harry. Sounds like you guys got a wee bit more rain from Fay then we did although we're still getting it from the feeder bands. Makes it kind of rough taking the storm shutters down.
