Looks like someone sprinkled them with sugar! Great series--I've had some nice shots comp-wise but the detail and focus are sorely lacking. Have to invest in the right gear if I want to join this macro mob! I really enjoyed these bee shots, thanks for sharing.

Beautiful Phil, first shot looks like the Bee is having a bad hair day.
Love the Flower head too, it's a thistle isn't it? such a pretty colour.
