I recently took a trip to Colorado to meet my boyfriend's family. He has a brand new great niece-2 weeks old who was dying to have her pictures taken. Since I flew, and there are strict baggage allowences now, I was VERY limited on my equipment. Boston was the most awake newborn I have ever had the please of working with. Anyway, I did the best I could with what I had, and here they are. The mother really enjoyed them. C/C always welcome.

Good job! I really like #1 and #7... I don't want to sound morbid but I find number 4 disturbing... honestly, to me the baby looks like a corpse in that shot. I sort of feel bad even saying that but it's the first thing that popped into my head when I saw it. Love the rest, though.

    Grt Shots Shannon!
Intrestingly, the odd numbered shots look good compared to evens!
    Liked 1,3,5 & 7.

    Cheers!

Nice shots! What did you do for lighting with these images? I love shots 5 and 7, they are classic poses!

Beautiful captures. Of them all #4 is my least favorite...as it seems awkward for some reason...ne_nau.gif ...but they are all very well done. I think it is a revival of sorts to work with minimal gear sometimes. A camera, a prime lens, a window, a face, a memory card. What more do you really....REALLY...need?

X'lint job......I bet they invite you back for more!:D

Kind of funny thing for lighting.... I used a worklight/heatlamp....lol. It's what they had available. Sometimes it's fun to get back to basics. Thanks for the compliments!:D

Very cute. I'm such a sucker for the body part shots.

One suggestion... watch the hot-spots. Err on the side of underexposure and just push it in post to get a more balanced and moody tonal range.
