A rose is beautiful...

...especially when it evokes memories.

I took the photograph this Queen Elizabeth rose - normally a gentle subtle pink colour - and one of my mum's faves before she died a few years ago (the wife's mum bought us one for the garden). Every year we get some splendid blooms for the house.

But this one - converted to black and white I think does the rose as much justice as colour. I used LR to process it, then CS2 to go black and white, Elements 6 to add the borders and Tiffen to add the glow and soft focus and vignette.

It's soft and delicate looking, the light is really gentle too ..... that would make a really nice gift card.
