Hi Dawn, welcome to dgrin wave.gif

Apart from the pup and the hurricane, there were all people shots, so I took the liberty of moving this thread to the appropriate forum to get you some comments. (You had posted it in beyond photoshop).

I like the shot of the beach. Are these scans from film or digital?

The dog shot is very nice. Did you do something to it to blow out the snow and make it reddish? That works for me in this shot, but I spent a lot of time last winter trying to do the opposite -- get snow to look realistic. If you are interested, you might look at this link.

The people shots are great poses and interesting compositions, but they all have color problems. It might help you to read this tutorial on getting good flesh colors.
    If not now, when?

Hi Dawn and welcome to dGrin. You've provided a lot to look at and comment on so I'll just say "good job". There's some nice stuff here and evidence of a good eye. More experienced folks here will give more advice. thumb.gif

How old is your scanner? These look like the results I get when using my mom's old scanner - grainy, colors off. However, some of the new $100 scanners give amazing results, I have one in my office.
