I have been playing around with this lens for a few days now. I still have much to learn, but here are a couple of attempts. I would be interested in your thoughts and suggestions.

Thanks, Ron

Hi there Ron, my cat has that exact same look on her face that your wasp has rolleyes1.gif she's really annoyed with me tonight for some reason.

Your focus appears much better on the Grasshopper shot,
than the Wasp, however getting used to your equipment will yield good results the more you get to know it.

I'm not sure if the Sony 100mm will take Extension Tubes,
I think it does ??? someone correct me if I'm wrong here please.

Just remember all lenses have limits and getting too close can be one of those limits.

May I ask if you are using a flash with your camera, or relying on Natural light to light up your subjects?

I think your going to do fine, the Grasshopper is the better of the two shots... keep practising is the way to go thumb.gif

    Nice work Ron clap.gif .... Skippy :D

Thanks Brian and Skippy. You are correct Skippy that the WAsp is not in sharp focus. It was close but no cigar. I will keep working at it as I do enjoy macro. I better, as much as that lens cost!! I know nothing about extension tubes. I have heard the name before, but that is all. Is there somewhere I can learn more about them?

    Thanks, Ron

good shots, good composition on wasp shot, as maxine already commented on focus not so good.
#2 best for sharpness. always try to focus on the eye.
keep practising, take loads of shots to get a few keepers as we all do.
