Approval for Posting Pics??

What is my responsibility as far as getting approval to post photos online? I know I have seen photo release forms that I have personally had to sign for example, at my kids school. The reason I ask is because I took photos at a party and of a professional band that was playing and I would like to post their photos and have them look at them also. Do I need their approval to post their photos on my website?
