Needs a black point and some midtone contrast.

    No pop.

Ahhhhhhhhh I have a couple of these plants myself,
I don't have a garden as such, just a few Australian Natives scattered here and there.... I noticed the Hoverflies really like those flowers.

This summer I am going to try and get a decent shot of a hover fly,
and try out Brians stacking technique on a bug.

    Lovely Closeup Obecanobe thumb.gif .... Skippy :D

    Thanks for the comments.
Can someone let me know what DonRicklin was talking about when he suggested I needed a "Black Point".
I haven't heard of this before.

What are you using to PP your images? PSCS or Lightroom?

The shot was taken straight from the camera. I increased the contrast using Canons software that comes with the 40D, otherwise have done nothing else to it.

    Don,
Thanks for the link to the tutorial.
I have run through it but found it adds too much black in. I think I need to muck around with the RGB settings a little.
    Once again thanks.

This kind of thing is always to personal taste. There is a difference between enough and too, much!
