then you haven't met the egret chicks
20596024-L.jpg

when Trish and I visited the St. Augustine Rookery I noticed that as soon as one parent flew into the nest the other got out of there fast. Here's dad coming home
20598021-L.jpg

In less than a minute she's gone and he's alone with the, gulp, kids
20596031-L.jpg

Now do they care if dad has had a hard day at the swamp. Nope! All they want to know is if he's brough them anything, preferably regurgitated fish parts.
20598024-L.jpg

If dad's not careful he's going to lose an eye
20598040-L.jpg

soon all the youngins have been fed so they huddle up and plan their attack for when mom gets home

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"

Surely someone, somewhere, wants to buy a baby Egret shot. It sure is memorable.

    Hey Steve,

Actually Trish was the first one to post egret chick shots. http://dgrin.com/showthread.php?t=10178

You missed it because you were gone. Andy said you were attending the Bettty Ford Rehab Center. rolleyes1.gif

They are ugly and they are extremely noisy. The noise level at the Rookery was very high.

Thanks for stopping by its always a pleasure to show a Cannonite what a real camera can do. :smack

    Sounds cool, right?

Having never seen these chicks in real life I'm enjoying all the chick photos forum members have posted.

What a great book it would make!

    Easier said than done, right?

I'm enjoying seeing you enjoy your retirement!

    Harry,

I'm starting to run out of original ways of saying how good your shots are! Oh well!

Simply awesome! clap.gif Particularly the last one (although all these really are excellentthumb.gif ), what jumps out to me is how close they resemble dinosaurs!
