Vogel State Park, Georgia (USA)
My husband's family has a get-together every summer at Vogel State Park in the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Georgia. Of course we spend time visiting with the other family members, but mostly we are out hiking around the park or surrounding trails or visiting nearby cities. Here's some of my favorites from this year's trip.
Started a walk around the lake. Stopped to take a few flower pictures.
Stopped at the dam to take a picture of the lake looking back toward the cabins.
Took a side trail to see the falls.
Stopped to take more flower pictures
My daughter cooled her feet in the creek. I had to laugh at the sign--the water is barely over ankle deep the entire bit of creek we explored.
Decided to go for a drive and found more flowers.
Ended up in Helen, Georgia (this is the gazebo at Unicoi Hill Park)
and photographed more flowers...(sorry, there were so many and they were so pretty I couldn't help it)...
one more...
Then on to Brasstown Bald, the highest point in Georgia. This is the view looking up toward the visitor center from the parking lot.
This is the view from the top of Brasstown Bald looking down toward the parking lot.
This is the flag that flies at the top of Brasstown Bald. I caught a lucky breeze.
Lastly, the whole crew (including me):
Sorry to post so many shots. I took hundreds of photos of so many different scenes and flowers, it was hard to narrow the week down into just a few shots.
Thanks for looking.
