Hi Ron, I'm not sure if these will fit your lens, but it might pay you to do a search and see what you can get hold of.
These are KENKO AUTO Ext. Tubes, they will allow you to get a lot closer than you are getting already.

Have you looked at Brians Tutorial on Stacking images?
That can help pull in detail as well.
