Hello,
Just discovered this site, and must say I am very impressed with the nice collection of folks and their images. Seems like a great community. Looking forward to joining in.
I thought I'd share a few of my images for c&c. I recently ordered these as fotoflots (highly recommended, btw). Most were shot while I was playing around with a little Canon G6, and you'll see some obvious flaws...now I have a 30D, tripod, nice glass, etc., and am learning more each day.
#1 - "Streak the Thames" (London)
#2 - "Smile on the Nile" (Egypt)
#3 - "Baja Rust" (Mexico)
#4 - "Lake Buttermere" (England)
#5 - "Fallucas in the Mist" (Aswan, Egypt)
My biggest challenge, while touring these parts of the world with family and friends (as a tourist and not a photographer), is frequently being unable to control the time of day we arrive at each spot, how long we stay, etc. As a result, I am often attempting to make the best out of "high noon" shots and the like. I'm sure you have all experienced these constraints.
Cheers,
-Chris

Thanks for delurking with a great set. I do understand about being stuck photographing at whatever time you arrive on-site. I think that's why people like shooting IR landscapes, because it doesn't matter if you have flat bright light then.
If you have any questions just let us know. People around here love to help and share. Hope to see more from you, too!

The Buttermere shot was an example of leaving the B&B at 4:30am before my family woke up, driving for an hour or two across the amazing landscapes of the northern English Lakes District, and finally reaching the pristine Lake Buttermere. I think I was the only soul around, and was rewarded for it. My wife and I get 5-6 weeks of vacation a year, so we make the best of it. Travel is our priority.
And yes, Schmoo, the whole IR thing is news to me, just heard about it today while checking out Andy's excellent work. I'll look into it asap.
I also just added 3-stop, 6-stop, and 10-stop ND B+W filters to my B&H wishlist, so I can tell this thing is going to continue to get very expensive, very fast.
